Organizations that can help you learn about education in the U.S.:
- Education USA – EducationUSA is a global network of more than 400 advising centers supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.
Financial Aid / Scholarships:
- Opportunity Grants – you may be eligible for up to $10,000 to help you get into a US university! Find out more on our blog or at your local advising center. Here’s a description of the program via the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. Your U.S. Embassy’s website will inform your if your country has the Opportunity Grants program.
Sponsored Programs:
- US-Central Asia Education Foundation Fellowships – needs based fellowships to study business or economics at KIMEP or AUCA. Open to citizens of the five former Soviet Central Asian Republics.
- Kosovo American Education Fund – Graduate Fellowships for citizens of Kosovo.
- Eurasia Undergraduate Program – Undergraduate fellowships for citizens of numerous countries.
- Muskie Graduate Program – Graduate fellowships for citizens of numerous countries.
- Near East South Asia Exchange Program – Fellowships for undergraduate students from several countries (primarily Muslim countries)
- American Councils Sponsored Programs Site – a great non-profit site with details on several opportunities.
